This year the fifth and sixth graders in Polk Street School participated in Trivia Challenge, an academic competition that raises funds to benefit United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. is an independent non-profit health agency serving over 1,800 children and adults with cerebral palsy, as well as other developmental disabilities.
The Trivia Challenge program provides students with the opportunity to learn about people with disabilities and the challenges they face. In addition, it teaches them about the personal rewards of philanthropy.
Students take the Trivia Challenge in teams of four. The test consists of 100 fun, thought-provoking questions on a wide variety of topics. Students have 45 minutes to complete the test. The team of four that answered the most questions correctly on Trivia Challenge Day was Kyle, Michael, Frankie, and Nick and they represented our school at the county-wide championship.
Together we can teach our children the value of helping others.
